Purpose for being
RUDNET was established in 2002, the need being apparent for an organisation to be established to address, among others, the following problems, namely
- facilitating Socio-economic empowerment and skills training of farm workers.
- promoting the social inclusion of farm workers in civil organs
- addressing social problems such as poverty, alcoholism, limited education and poor health (HIV, TB).

Mission
To enhance the sustainable quality of life and standard of living of the farm working communities and ensuring the importance of good working relationships between employer and employee through:
- Capacity-Building, including farm worker committee training and leadership development;
- Advocacy: Farm Health Award System;
- Research and Information;
- Strengthening and support of network members; and
- Sustainability of RUDNET
With a clear commitment to positive attitude changing and cooperation between RUDNET members and significant role players.
